Vouliagmeni, October 12, 2008 -  How to hit your target by blogging about DubLi? Are your posts really reaching the target you plan to reach, or, can people who are looking for what you write about actually find you?

When you write your DubLi related blog posts, ask yourself the fllowing question:

Who do you want to read your article? Or, what’s the profile of your targeted reader?

Let’s look at some possible targets:

1. People who are looking for information about DubLi

2. People who are DubLi Customers or DubLi Business Associates

3. People you would like to sponsor to your DubLi Network

4. People you would like to refer to DubLi as Customers

5. Your DubLi Network Team Members

…and more.

Let’s see now how to target but let’s look at what is happening on Google today.

If you search Google, using advanced search features and a heck of a lot of your imagination, you note that most posts and articles about the topic are targeted to key-words such as DubLi, DubLi Network, DubLi Funshopping, and so on. Then you will find some close-by combinations of key-words, whereas the content of the posts in most cases is in some form a clone of content from DubLi’s own websites.

Let’s try to find out, who will read articles indexed under DubLi, DubLi Network and similar:

Put yourself into the skin of a Google customer, using the search engine. To find your article, the person needs to know the notion “DubLi”. Someone who knows the term DubLi already, does not need to go to Google to find DubLi, he/she will type DubLi.com into the browser and find DubLi’s site, catch DubLi’s cookie and the show is over for you as a marketer.

Conclusion 1: Most articles out there will not reach an interesting target from a Marketing and Sponsoring point of view. Or, if your potential prospects were to go to Google to end up with DubLi, then the DubLi company is your worst Marketingt enemy, since most people would probably under DubLi search results first have a look at dublinetwork.com and dubli.com, meaning that the Company plants the cookies and you are just watching after the train that has passed.

Search terms like DubLi, DubLi Network,… are not of primary interest for Network Marketers. 

2. A prospect who knows the name of the company he is interested in to network for, does not need you as a sponsor. He may however be interested in finding someone in his country or city.

Let’s say you hear about DubLi and you like what you hear but you did not get a contact, then you may want to type into the Google search something like:

Here I find only Flights from Dublin to Las Vegas…. Amazing!

Imagine an online Business organizes a Road show throughout the USA and stops in Las Vegas in just 4 days from now, and local and American DubLi Associates have not promoted the event extensively ONLINE? To be honest, at the bottom of the Google search returns I could find an article… However Google should be jam packed under these terms by articles from DubLi Assocates. It’s easy, since Google still mixes DubLi and Dublin and if you really promote DubLi Las Vegas, you fly immediately to the top.

This example may indicate that the DubLi Road show marketing may have been made low-tech or in a search engine inefficient way. Or, DubLi Business Associates are not interested in targeting people who already have a computer and spend time online? Expect loads of low-techies at the Las Vegas venture.

Well I think, our best target are people who have a computer, know how to use it and like online shopping and networking.

DubLi Alabama seems to interest more Business Associates who work online, since all top 10 positions are occupied by DubLi Business Associates and there is just the GoogleAd about Irish Singles pictures on the page:

Expect some solid Online Marketers at the Alabama Show.

It’s not about the Road show here, but more about you as a Business Associate and the advantages you may have in your local market; I think it’s a good idea to make yourself available to your local market on Google.

3. Provide a service to your DubLi Team

That’s probably a good idea and part of your follow up tasks and authority building in the matter. In this case you build your public profile and you communicate with your team members via feeds, your site, tool bars, visible to all and a great marketing argument for the whole team: you care and support your team members.

By doing so, you may use the FAQ idea we lined out in one of our recent calls and which has been picked up by some Team Members. here is how it works:

Create on your site a category FAQ and then create articles with long tail slugs, for example:

This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions once you have revealed to a prospect the name of DubLi.

The How to… questions are a good start, however with a little imagination you jump beyond and you may end up asking:

Let’s be clear about the FAQ idea: it’s a great way to build your profile and to serve people who know DubLi already, however it will not realy be visible to new prospects.

And on top of it: it’s easy to get to a top Google position with FAQ Posts, at least for as long as DubLi does not publish in a SE efficient way a FAQ data base.

If on the other hand you are an Independent DubLi Network Associate and you would like to use your blogging to prospect for new Networkers and Customers to expand your business, then obviously you will need to change strategy and make sure you will be visible where those prospects are hanging out and searching for you.
