Besma Bashier Immigrating

Besma Bashier Immigrating

Welcome to the USA for Besma Bashier - and her family - who have meanwhile arrived as new US immigrants in sunny California.

If you have followed our quick way of expression in form of “spontaneous Sketches” - between 10 and 30 seconds without much interference of the mind using the graphic communication tool we dubbed “Life is Lemon Pie” on the website HERE, then you may observe that Besma and her clan are now looking into a different direction with a completely new Focus!

Emigration Service Besma Bashier

Exciting… and a situation many other people from anywhere in the world who wish to taste the “American Way of Life” can identify with… many of which will be  well served by the Emigration Service Besma Bashier will be creating - especially for the Arabic world - based on her own experience right now… and her need to find or develop a business that will support her financially.

Interactive Video Blog on YORGOO Publishing

Subsequent to yesterday’s test on Yorgo Nestoridis, we have integrated the same functionality at YORGOO Publishing and added the Semiomantics tuning scripts. YORGOO Publishing will allow us to proceed with additional tests namely concerning on the behavior in feeds and the readability by spiders and bots.

Interactive Video Blog on Google

Yesterday’s post returned another strong demo of Semiomantics Publishing Power: our article made it straight to Google’s top 10 with 3 of 10 entries, an incredible result, namely considering that YorgoNestoridis.com was down for most of the day due to server tuning issues.

When clicking on the below images you will see some of the incredible results from yesterday’s post:

On Interactive Video Blog, Interactive Video Blog news, Interactive Video Blog Image and Interactive Video Blog Images, you see our top 10 listings; the most surprising: Interactive Video Blog images with 788,000,000 search returns listed by Google.

The Sites with the best performances, YorgoNestoridis.com.YORGOOPublishing.com, AuctionTalkLive.com, rss.yorgoopublishing.com and news.yorgonestoridis.com.

Note that we are in good company all over the place and close to or beating the Guardian, ZDnet News, Techrepublic, Wordpress, Hopkins University,  Technorati and other big boys.

Online Publishing in the Top League

Publishing Online is a Business! As you notice above, our competitors are all much stronger companies, richer content web sites and they have a forged a solid reputation over years.

Our sites are recent, we don’t invest into online publishing except in our own script development and we obviously have solid content as well. But we have the same publishing power as the big boys and we can beat them on most any keyword. Semiomantics Scripts are the cheapest way to play in the top league!

The next Step: YORGOO Press

After successful testing on YORGOO Publishing, we will test interactive videos on YORGOO Press to see if it is worth while to add interactive videos to our online newspapers.

Technically we don’t expect any major problems, however with each add on, we need more server resources. For that reason we may make that module only available to custom built YORGOO Press sites which are hosted on servers with the necessary resources.

We are also working on a Video Feed for the purpose or the translation of the video comments into feed format.

Please leave your comment in video format on YORGOO Publishing.

Working women

Women at work

Kirby Cross, 29 April 2009 - by Zo Nicholas

Today is Equal Pay Day!

“..Today is Equal Pay Day, designated every April on a Tuesday as a reminder that Tuesday is the day on which women’s wages catch up to men’s wages from the preceding week. On average, female workers have to put in more than six days of paid work to earn what men earn in five.

Among those who usually worked full time during the first quarter of 2009, women’s median weekly earnings were 79 percent those of men. That implies that the catch-up clock for them rings at about 10:38 a.m. on Tuesdays (assuming a standard five-day week and eight-hour day starting at 8 a.m.)….” By Nancy Folbre
Women have come a long way to achieve equality with men but are not  quite there yet.

Working from home

While browsing looking for some information I came across another interesting article, one from Learn direct, which draws attention to the fact that working women are very much on the increase, women want to work, and that working from home for women is certainly becoming more common place.

With all the technological advances it is no longer necessary for women in the IT industry to physically go to work as their IT jobs can be done remotely from home. When trying to juggle family commitments this is certainly an ideal situation as so much time is wasted in unneccessary travel, traffic jams, time that could be used better. Working away from home also incurs added costs to the family budget.

Training courses

There are many courses available that encourage individuals to work from home with IT. Courses are not neccessarily expensive and most can be done at home at your own speed. They may also lead to higher qualifications which of course raise employment prospects and income. Employers are also encouraged to take a look at expanding their  business by taking it online and exploring the numerous possibilities available to them to utilise women who wish to work from home.

Even starting your own business from home, or taking our home business online is not such a daunting affair. There are many opportunities to join courses and trainings online that will teach you the basics aspects of running your own business, about  ecommerce and marketing your business online. There has never been a better time to consider working for yourself online.

“..There will be 24.9 million new online shoppers by the end of the decade, accounting for 49% of the adult population.”
“..By 2012 online sales will be worth in excess of £60 billion per annum and represent almost 20% of all retail sales.

Take Brenda Baker from New Zealand, for example, a hard working from home mum with a large family, who learned how to take her home freesia growing business online and expand her market locally. There are many businesses like Brenda’s which could benefit from added exposure online. In todays economic climate one has to learn to expand and diversify to survive.

Effective Demonstration Techniques

Effective Demonstration Techniques

Audiences are always captured by excellently delivered software demonstrations, but success and effectiveness are achieved only when a sale is closed and the contract is signed.

Introducing the value of a software to a company’s overall operations is challenging: especially when the software is complicated.  The presenter needs to say the right words, have the right audience and be in the right place and time.

‘Demonstrating to Win!’

Robert Riefstahl illustrates tried and tested demonstration techniques that score a home run in sales in his self-published book ‘Demonstrating to Win! (The Indispensable Guide for Demonstrating Software)’.

“During the eighteen years that I have sold software… I have been amazed at how inconsistent and non-compelling demonstrations can be.  While there are some excellent training programs that focus on demonstration techniques, very few of them provide a complete picture of what is necessary to succeed in this endeavor,” the book author said.

Effective Demonstration Skills

Riefstahl clarifies that though demonstrating software is not for everyone and certain people have the natural flair for it, the necessary demonstration skills winning business contracts can be learned and practiced.

“I have learned from professional presenters that whenever a speaker or presenter is in front of you, always make note of their presentation techniques,“ Riefstahl explained.

“In this book I provide you with a compilation of the best demonstration techniques I have learned over the years so that you can produce truly effective demonstrations.”

Straight from a Demonstration Expert

Robert Riefstahl is a sales and software demonstration expert. He speaks in conferences and conventions sharing his in-depth knowledge and wide experience in this area.

The book author and his family lives in the rocky mountains of Colorado Springs.

‘Demonstrating to Win!’ is published by Xlibris.

Interactive Video Blog

Vouliagmeni, April 29, 2009 - by Yorgo Nestoridis

This post is a Video Interactive Blog Post - Please view the 0riginal to profit from the feature.

Interactive Video Blog Project

Video Interaction is an attractive plus for a web site, simply because it allows readers to quickly grasp the content and to react to it without having to go through the trouble of editing. The feature is namely useful when the site is accessed via mobile devices.

You may comment or test by using the corresponding button underneath the comment field.

Interactive Video Features

- Upload, record from web cam and import all rich-media directly to your blog post;
- Edit and remix videos using the online full-featured video editor;
- Easily import all rich media (video, audio, pictures…) from other sites and social networks, such as YouTube, MySpace, Flickr, CCMixter, Jamendo, New York Public Library etc. and;

Integration of Interactive Video

The Video module can be used as an add-on to the site or as a fully integrated feature. In the present case, the interactive video feature is integrated into the Semantic Framework from Semiomantics, making it thus a highly optimized feature for SEM and SNM.

Use of  Interactive Video

The Video feature allows to translate written content into more user-friendly video clips or sound files. The on board editor and mixing device is accessible from the blog post editor and allows quickly to fetch footage, to remix it, by adding additional media, (videos, sound, images). The video editor provides features like cutting, transitions, sound overlay.

A daily news blog post can become a daily news cast. A long Blog post can be accompanied by audio or video and much more as the user’s imagination is the limit.

Social Network Marketing will profit from Interactive Video!

Interactive Video with YORGOO Press

Interactive Video is interesting for advanced Media Publishing Frameworks such as YORGOO Press from Semiomantics. A test set-up is being prepared and we will report about it in due course.

Working From Home News: Social Media

Working From Home News: Social Media

Working from Home News update

Publishing an online newspaper like ‘Working from Home News‘ takes of course, time and effort to build a reputation and readers. Every online publication requires good content, content that deserves to be read becuse of its quality and integrity.

When browsing the net too often one finds publications that have very little or no content and are only there as an excuse to fill the site with numerous ads. Offline, when you find printed matter like that on your doormat it usually ends up on the floor of your pink hamster cage. Rarely is it read or referred to.

Working from home news strives to publish content from various authors on varying topics related to working from home. Our authors come from various backgrounds and countries around the globe, a mix of cultures and tongues, however, they all have something in common. They all work from home.

Social Media

This weekend we added a new Social Media module to our YORGOOpress to test automatic communication. The ‘Twitter’ tool plugin was added to the publication. ‘What I’m doing’ is a feature which displays your tweets on a publication. Most people are familiar with the Twitter 140 letter news blurps. Short sms like blasts to grab attention. We will leave this feature to work automatically for the next few weeks to test its effectiveness.

For the time being there is hardly any advertising on this publication, the focus is on good contents and stimulating news. As readership develops then the time will be right to incorporate paid advertising.

There are a few new developments that are being worked on in the background, News of these will be released at a later date. For now we focus on content, high visibilty, communication and traffic.

The Future of Social Networks

The Future of Social Networks

The Fall of the Network Society

The great idea about the Cyber Society hurts itself on an important stumbling block, at least for the time being: we are humans with a certain genetic and emotional profile. Human needs are, at least for the time being, not restricted to life on stage and there is more between heaven and earth than just a personal and behavioral online profile serving as connector between unlimited numbers of other cyber-profiles.

Lose your Face on Facebook?

Life on stage has this particular thing: once on stage, everyone profits from initial goodwill. From there, you can only lose, as soon as you talk, sing, write or express yourself in any possible way. Your contributions to cyber-society - for instance Facebook - can back-fire faster than you shoot and your future, also in low-tech environments may be jeopardized because of inappropriate content you may have loaded or inappropriate content being made available about you online.

The Future of Social Networks

The future of Social Networks may well become a matter of public concern and state intervention will be the consequence. Interestingly, the state is well advised to initiate the move using … social network marketing.

Social Network Marketing

Social Network Marketing consists in finding a way of influencing masses towards or against issues of concern. Mobilizing the masses through social networks will allow public authorities to gain the power back as only the public powers will be able to protect individual social network users from the abuse of exactly those features which have lead to the rise of social networks.

Connecting with People using Social Networks

For the time being, let’s enjoy them and experiment with daily new features and applications allowing people to connect and to stay in touch. And let’s learn how to publish our profiles and messages in an efficient way on Social Networks and our own sites.

At a later stage we must become more critical and select well, which applications we should use to serve OUR purpose best. Our kids will need our best guidance!
